Cat Breading: The Basics I have only recently become aware of the internet craze that is Cat Breading. It is a huge internet meme and is pretty much what you think it is…people putting a hole in some form of bread product and placing it over the head of a cat (see photo).

The original cat bread photo was posted by Reddit in August 2011, where it received over 50,000 comments in only six months

Cat Breading Guide:

1) Take any bread based product. If you are new to this, you may want to stick to a traditional white slice. When you are more experienced you may want to move onto a half-loaf, or even a farmhouse loaf. Possibly even multi-grain.

2) Make a hole in the bread that is only slightly larger that your cat’s head. Depending on if you want the ears in on the front or back of your cat breading picture, adjust the hole size accordingly.

3) Without distressing your cat, slowly and gently place the bread over it’s face.

4) Now it is time to immortalise your cat’s abuse by taking a photograph, of him/her looking all…bready. When you have taken multiple photos and decided on one, post it to the official ‘in-bread cats’ FaceBook FanPage here.

Enjoy Cat Breading without a Cat

If you don’t happen to own a cat, it is strongly advised that you do not bread neighbours cats…the main reason is that it stops them from getting through their cat-flaps. It also creates an issue where cats become the victim of mass random bird attacks. Just think about how birds react when people give them crumbs…a slice of bread…it’s the mother load! They ignore the cat and re-enact scenes from Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘The Birds’

But don’t be sad. The only reason you want to bread a cat that isn’t yours is to see what happens when you pop it on their face. Well here’s exactly what happens:
