This has to be, by a long shot, the most beautiful cloud formation that I have ever seen. It looks like something that you might find in a Hollywood blockbuster, created by the special effect guys.
But forget special effects, this beautiful cloud is genuine.
I’m not sure what type of cloud it is, and if anyone out there knows, then I would love it if you could leave information in the comments section below.
So far the closest information I could find on a similar cloud was:
“The mamma cloud formations, sometimes known as ‘mammatus’, are named after the Latin for ‘breasts’. As described earlier, these can appear on the underside of a number of different cloud types – Cirrus, Cirrocumulus, Altocumulus, Altostratus, Stratocumulus, and Cumulonimbus – and at their most dramatic look like a field of smooth, globular udders.”
