Halloween Reversed

Happy Halloween. If you are going out trick or treating tonight, how about trying Halloween Reversed? The premise is explained in full in the cartoon.

Essentially what you are doing in Halloween reversed is turning the people who open the door to you, into the trick or treaters.

How? Simple, you carry around a lightweight replica of a door. It needs to be slightly larger than a door in order to accommodate the different door sizes you might come across.

Next, place a real handle onto the door, this won’t add too much weight, and really, only needs to be on one side.

Stick a note to the door that reads, “Please Knock”.

Dress up as happy old folks who would be over the moon to be giving out treats on a night like this, and you are ready to go.

Go to a house, place the fake door against the door of the house you are at, note side facing the house, and ring the doorbell.

Wait for the home owner to open the door, only to be confronted with another door that isn’t normally there. Wait for the knock, ‘open’ the fake door, and then act as someone normally would if they were giving out treats.

That’s Halloween Reversed, and while it may take a little effort, it will bring a lot of smiles to many faces.
