Why not to take cats on walks.
One of the major differences of owning a cat compared to a dog is that you don’t have to take it out for walks. Sometimes people say to me, “why not take cats on walks?”
While on the face of it, this seems like a stupid question that I should instantly dismiss. I have to admit to having a cat harness, a device that enables you to take cats on walks. I acquired it through marriage though, and won’t admit to buying it!
However, the issue with walking a cat is that the cat has had freedom of movement for most of it’s life, and now you want to slap a leash onto it and control where it goes. Cat’s being as stubborn as they are, obviously decide to resist. Leaving you to drag the cat along the floor, stand around while it decides it’s going to lie down, or pick it up and carry it.
So should we take cats on walks?
Let’s answer that question with a picture of a cat, because it is said that they speak a thousand words. The picture that is…not the cat.
