It’s great to have you here for the second in the four part mini-series on ‘How To Spot When Someone is Lying To You’.
In the first episode we looked at ‘eye-access cues’ and that was possible the most technically involved method out of the entire series. With ‘eye-access cues’ you not only need to get used to the minute movements of the eyes, but you need to calibrate how a person responds to the question stimuli.
So, if the first episode seemed a little difficult for you and you want something more instant, episode two is certainly for you.
In fact, in this episode I will tell you one of the easiest ways to get an idea that someone is telling you ‘porkie pie’.
What is it?
Too much information!
When people begin to construct a lie in their head they try to fill out this fiction scenario with information in order to not only make it seem real, but to be able to answer any questions about that scenario and have those answers pre-planned.
This tends to manifest in the liar giving away those details even though they may not be asked for. The liar has taken the time to construct this fictional reality, why waste it?
It is this wanting to share too much information, information that seems very irrelevant that you need to be on the lookout for.
Along with this comes the answering of questions too swiftly as though the response has been pre-planned to a great degree.
There is a downside to this technique. Some people simply like to talk a lot and their waffling may ring false-alarm bells. However, if you know the person and know how much they normally talk and how they talk, you should be able to notice any uncharacteristically long winded or over detailed answers.
